Thank you for giving us the opportunity to present our case. We have been helping seniors of Eastern and Southern European origin since 1996 and we are very proud of our trouble free operation. We are not for profit community organisation, we would rather make a difference than a profit. We spend 70% of the Government subsidy and 100% of fees paid by our clients on direct service delivery. We are for people, especially for those who are isolated and disadvantaged because of their inability to communicate in English.

1. Our minimum time for service is 1 hour. We charge only for services delivered. Our basic fee is $ 7/hour, with concessions possible.
2. We have 24/7 emergency assistance with our telephone number being diverted to the manager’s mobile and with people on standby able to communicate in different languages and being able to assist
3. All our staff provides us with their current driver’s licence and standard car registration. Their cars are in good condition. We also have a Maxi Taxi services available as required eg. for people in a wheelchair.
4. All our staff police clearance and training, including First Aid, Fire Safety, Manual Handling, Food Handling, are up to date.
5. All our carers are bilingual and can communicate with people of many origins.
6. Our peer group activities on Wednesdays provide short (2 – 4 hours) outings for frail elderly people who are unable to attend other Day Centres for several hours. They are subcontracted by other service providers for their care recipients.  Our freshly cooked European meals served on Wednesdays, are also very popular amongst clients of “Rainbow” and other service providers.
7. We do not charge GST for our services.
8. We have current insurance for: Public Liability, Professional Indemnity, Personal Accident Voluntary Workers, Directors & Officers Liability, Personal Accident Journey, Employment Practices Liability, Statutory Liability Insurance and Workers Compensation.
9. We have had provided interim hospital package services for all major hospitals in Perth and other service providers who are unable to offer bilingual carers.
